Hello! My name is Miwa, and my family home is on Sado Island, a small and beautiful island in Japan.
My father’s family has been rice farmers there for over 200 years. It’s a peaceful village where people live close to nature, helping each other with rice and vegetable farming. Every year, the community holds a traditional festival at the local shrine to pray for a good harvest—one of the traditions I treasure deeply.
Now I live in Auckland, New Zealand, where I experience very different cultures and values. Living abroad has deepened my appreciation for Japan, and I would love to share not only the Japanese language but also our daily life, culture, and values with you.
I have been teaching Japanese for over 7 years, working with both beginners and advanced learners from all over the world. I offer one-on-one lessons and group classes, and I always tailor lessons to each student’s level, interests, and goals. For beginners, I use my own original materials to make learning easy and fun. For intermediate and advanced students, I often use articles, stories, or real-life topics so you can practice natural Japanese.
My lessons are relaxed and friendly, and I encourage students not to worry about mistakes—we learn step by step together. After each class, I also provide review notes so you can keep track of your progress.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you and enjoying fun and meaningful lessons together! 🌸✨
