About Me
I am Rafah, a native Arabic speaker and professional instructor specializing in Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine Arabic. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Literature, a certification in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers from the American University, and a Master’s degree in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language. Since 2003, I have been teaching Arabic, and since 2013, I have conducted over 8,000 online lessons for students around the world, helping learners of all levels improve their Arabic skills through engaging and personalized instruction.
My teaching approach is communicative and evidence-based, designed to maximize both input and output so students can acquire Arabic naturally and efficiently. Grammar is integrated into speaking and conversation rather than taught in isolation. I create a comfortable and supportive environment where lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.
If you have a preferred textbook, I’m happy to work with it. Otherwise, I will assess your needs in our first session and provide materials that suit your level and interests. I also offer audio or video recordings of the lessons for review.
For those studying the Levantine dialect, I incorporate popular Syrian TV shows to bring the language and culture to life.
