Hello! My name is Cármen Pinto and I am a Portuguese native speaker. I earned a degree in Modern Languages and Literature - English and German studies and a Special Education postgraduate degree. I started teaching 12 years ago. I have been teaching English and German to middle, high and professional school students and Portuguese for foreigners. In the last seven years I have also been working with students with some learning disabilities.
My passion for Nature has recently led me to take a Mountain Guide Course and currently, I am also a certified Mountain Guide.
I Love travelling, meeting new cultures, learning new languages...
I fell in love with languages when I was nine and I started learning English then French and then German.
As far as my approach to my teaching style/method I prefer a task-based approach, emphasising communication and the practical uses of language. Nevertheless, grammar and translation tasks are also used.I use a wide range of material, such as computers, audio-visual, realia….However I also believe that the best method is the method you like and you are comfortable with, so I sometimes adjust it taking that into account.
