Accent Reduction - English Tutors & Teachers
Hello, my future student! I am Edward, a CELTA-qualified English tutor from England with 1000+ hours of online and classroom teaching experience. I also offer reduced rates for students looking to take 45-minute or 30-minute classes. My present students come from all backgrounds, countries, age ranges and levels of competency in English; whether business professionals looking to improve their international communication skills or school pupils trying to get to the top of their class, I have helped hundreds of students make the breakthroughs they have been searching for. Just read my reviews! From advanced level students perfecting their grammar and expanding their vocabulary to near-beginners wanting to raise their confidence levels and improve their conversational skills, I have helped them all on their journey through the English language. My knowledge of languages, linguistics and philology is extensive, but I am keen on keeping things accessible, relevant and fun when I teach. I am a trained multi-linguist, speaking both French and Spanish, with a BA degree (2:1) in Hispanic Studies at the University of Nottingham and a CELTA qualification from the University of Sheffield's acclaimed ELTC.
Hello! I am Dani Cook from California. I am a graduate from UC Berkeley with a bachelors in English. I am a native English speaker and am currently traveling with my husband, devoting all my time to freelance work and English tutoring. My teaching career began in South Korea back in 2013 tutoring university students. Since then, I have continued to teach in South Korea at a private English academy and most recently, at a Korean Elementary school. I have also worked part time online for the last 2 years teaching students from all over the world and all ages in my spare time. I like to tailor my lessons to each student. Some wish to learn English which best suits a job interview while others wish to work on their speaking and writing. I can help with it all and am happy to do so!

Hello! I am the right teacher for intermediate and advanced adult and young-adult students who appreciate a prepared and organized but still fun and relaxed approach to their language-learning process. Do you need someone knowledgeable about language and the learning process? I am that teacher. I have a Master's degree in English, certifications to teach from several states in the U.S., and decades of experience teaching. I scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE in verbal reasoning and have learned foreign languages myself, so I know how you feel and the challenges you face. As a linguist, I can help you perfect your conversation. I am a grammar and style wizard, so if you need someone to help you with compositions, presentations, or dissertations, I am the person for you. If you are a person who enjoys creative writing, you will be happy to know that I have had short stories and poetry published in online magazines and my young-adult novel "Backbiters" was released this summer (you can see it on Amazon!). In other words, I can help you polish your creative pieces. I have taught ages 5 to 70+. I have taught face-to-face and online. Besides my native language of English, I speak Spanish and some French and Japanese and a bit of Italian (and have done a bit of Mandarin study though I have not reached proficiency yet; Portuguese is next!). Regardless of your native language, I am willing to learn about it, so I can best help you learn English. Learning a language takes time and effort, but I can make it as fun and efficient as possible for you, using dedication, compassion, and effective pedagogy. When I am not teaching, I have many interests. I read. I write. I love theater, art, and blues music. I swim, kayak, bike, run, and do yoga. I have to be active because I love to go to ethnic restaurants and cook ethnic food –- of course traveling to other countries to experience new cultures is the best! I also have an addiction to documentaries of all sorts because life is so interesting and a guilty pleasure of watching talent T.V. auditions. :) Whatever your interests, needs, and goals, I can help you reach them by assisting you to learn accurate, useful, and beautiful English. Let’s start now!
🎇HAPPY NEW YEAR🎇 I'm Lauren, and I am excited to help you with your English. Learning a new language doesn't have to be boring. Let's have fun! I want you to come to my class and feel comfortable to talk, laugh, learn, and make mistakes. Most of my classes focus on conversation. But everyone is different. We all have different needs, struggles, and goals. Maybe you are preparing for university, travel, a new job, or you just want to understand the shows on Netflix! Whatever the goal, I want to help. I teach English because I love to help people. Let me help you! If you aren't sure, take a trial class with me! We can talk about your goals, I'll tell you about my classes, and you can decide if I am the right teacher for you. Talk to you soon!
Hello There! I am Neil and I have been a corporate and general English trainer for over 9 years now with special focus on IELTS training too. I have done my PhD and I have an American TESOL certificate to boot along with a diploma in medical sciences. And I have taught students from many nations online for several years, and it has always been a great experience. :) I have extensive experiences in training people to be highly competent users of English in the 'native-way.' My lessons are very interactive! I am a very friendly, comfortable and funny teacher and I use effective, innovative and interesting ways to teach so that my students really learn a lot and also have a good time even when they are tired after a long day's work. My teaching methods involve listening, reading, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, writing and free talking and I often use pictures and funny video clips for descriptive purposes. Everything is aimed at giving my students maximum practice. My students have never scored less than 7 in IELTS so far and all of them are extremely satisfied with my classes. I DO NOT TEACH GRAMMAR and instead use natural acquisition of language through immersion into a total English environment. I always respect my students and expect the standard courtesies from them too. Let's learn with fun! Cheers! [NB: I can teach Bengali too] [PS- Check my book out at amazon :) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1549837362]

It has been a pleasure to learn from Terry for the past year and our lessons contributed greatly to my recent hiring by Google, which hires only .2 per cent of all job applicants! Terry focused on the topics I wanted to improve upon, and we had significant results in communication, adapting to personality types, and resolving workplace issues. Thanks for your tremendous support.” - MP, IT Specialist, Mountain View, USA "I was having problem to negotiate a good business deal with a Japanese import company. Terry coached me about Japanese culture and how to successfully negotiate to make everyone happy. The result was US$3.4 million agreement to buy our agricultural products and ship to Japan." RF, Owner, Sta. Catarina, Brazil "Terry did a terrific job in preparing me for an interview with the CEO of the world’s #1 healthcare company, RMA. Yesterday I just learned that I got the job as COO! I start September 19 (2019). His well-organized tutorials of stating valued personal qualities like determined, persistent, and resourceful, then each followed by a workplace example of achieving results was the perfect blueprint to study, practice, and execute effectively at the job interview. The result speaks for itself. Thanks again for the great advice and support! - AC, Chief Operating Officer, Madrid, Spain "...Once again many thanks for your support and the good interview preparation in the last two weeks. Your lessons are a lot of fun and very goal-oriented. I enjoyed talking with you and I learned a lot from you. You gave me a gift of the lifetime: humor. I will always keep it in my mind and integrate it into my future presentation and conversation with people I would encounter in the West." - Nathan Yang, Teacher, Taiwan “Sometimes I struggle with expressing my thoughts in English. I asked Terry to help me with a public presentation for a training session. Terry inspired me to speak from my personal experiences as it related to my topic. His direction was just what I needed to give life to an otherwise dull topic…” - Wenxin Guan, Senior Research Analyst, IMS Health, Los Angeles, CA "Terry came to the session with a great plan...He was perfectly prepared, so the lesson was well-structured and therefore extremely efficient. We worked on my job interview mistakes from my real job interviews. We also worked on my biggest grammar weakness - prepositions after certain words. I've never seen such a high level of professionalism.” - DK, Software Developer, Krasnodar, Russia *NOTE LESSON POLICY: If you cancel our lesson within one hour of the scheduled time, or not show up for the lesson without notice, the hourly lesson rate will be applied.
