** Please only book trial lessons if you are genuinely interested in taking lessons!! Their purpose is to help you choose a teacher :) ** Hello! I love talking to people and facilitating their learning. I have a post-graduate teaching qualification (PGCE) from the UK and TEFL certificate, with a wide experience in education, and I have given courses to people aged 3-63 for several years. I have also recently completed a Teaching IELTS and a Business English TEFL course. I aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable teaching environment, whilst being thorough and working with each student's needs, and I am easy to talk to! So don't worry if you are nervous or don't feel confident - I can help you with that. Have you forgotten your English? Know how to read and write, but afraid to speak...? Would you like to practise your English more often? I can help you to improve your English! The sessions concentrate on the practical use of the language, conversation and pronunciation. They are mainly intended to be a relaxed and enjoyable method of learning and to get used to speaking, but can also be combined with grammar and can be adapted to suit all ages and levels (although I am not currently taking complete beginners, sorry). I can also offer intensive courses and coaching in presentation skills. I often work with students of intermediate-advanced levels to help perfect their spoken English. I have helped students prepare for IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge speaking exams - a recent student of mine got 111/120 on the TOEFL exam! I have also assisted students with confidence, to achieve more natural rhythm and intonation, and even issues concerning being understood, communicating effectively, politeness and cultural differences in language!! **Dear current students! If you can't find the time you want, you can send me a message**

Hello! My name is Mr. Kat Rogan. I am a native English speaker from the United States and I have been a professional language trainer for over 14 years for all age groups and levels of learning. I started teaching English in China at Dalian Maritime University in 2006. Since that time I have traveled to many countries, and have met and talked to just about every nationality you can think of. As and traveler, educator, and avid learner, the biggest thing I can say I have discovered about myself during this time: I really love languages and cultures. For me, learning languages and about people and their heritage is the "spice of life." This is what truly drives me to be a better person, keep moving forward, and improve at all levels of my life - every day. It's interesting, during these travels and experiences of the past decade-and-a-half, I have learned how to say basic concepts and greetings in at least 10 languages, which is a lot of fun and a big talking point in my day to life. People often ask me what my favorite language is. And after English, of course, I would usually say, it would have to be. 2. Chinese 3. Spanish 4. Thai 5. Japanese 6. Italian 7. Russian And more. (don't forget my adopted brother from Portugal - what's up Duarte) There are many languages! And really love to talk about them! But, at the top of my list is Chinese. I spend a lot of time practicing Chinese. Being a 4000-year-old civilization, there are endless amounts of wisdom, knowledge and culture to be found in this language. So, for me, it's a lifetime journey/mission to understand more about this language, culture, and people. I also love Spanish. Born and raised in the United States, Spanish is my second language. I studied Spanish in high school and university, but I know I need to improve. Though I can understand quite a bit of what is being said in Spanish, my speaking does need some practice. Spanish is spoken quite quickly. So, I know how much I need to improve. I also know how important it is to keep practicing my speaking ability with Spanish, as with any language. Though I am not too bad at speaking languages, I do know the feeling of not being able to speak at the level I would like. So I keep trying to learn new methods and systems of learning. And I really like to learn more about people, and their cultures. This is why I love learning languages. And this is also why I really love my job as a language trainer, teacher, or coach. So I hope to make your acquaintance and have many lessons with you. Kat Rogan Qualifications & Experience My education encompasses a long career as a news reporter and journalist as a Mass Communication student from the University of Utah. I also have a degree in Business Management from Weber State University. My master's education is in Multi-Media Film, MFA. I specialize in all forms of professional communication in business, interviewing, writing, examinations, basic conversation, and kid's phonics training. And I am TEFL certified to teach children. Having been a language trainer and learner for 14 years, I have taught thousands of students from around the world. In my experience, I have developed dedicated lesson planning systems, specifically designed for the student depending on their needs. Interestingly, I have found many ESL students with difficulties reaching their true potential. I have also found traditional models of learning to be rather rigid and outdated for progressive thought in the high-paced technologically-driven communication world we live in today. These issues are very important when it comes to speaking at high levels or high-pressure situations. My system brings together the best learning programs into one comprehensive lesson planning system and is adjustable to each specific need and goal of the learner. Some of my classes have helped my students to pass entry exams, get great jobs, get into great universities, succeed at all levels of speaking, writing, and communication for professional and interpersonal use all while having fun. My classes are fun, and I really love teaching that's why I still do it after all these years. Education BS Business Management/Finance BS Mass Communication/Journalism MFA Film and Computer Imagery C-TEFL 120 hour Experience Over 10 years of teaching experience in Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Thailand) Over 5 years of working internationally as a language trainer with video calls, conferencing, and correspondence. Areas of focus Pronunciation correction Writing instruction at all levels Business English Exam Preparation Phonics For Kids Other qualifications Great with kids Overall fun teacher

A native British English speaker, I have been passionate about language learning since school. I studied Modern Languages at university in the UK, so understand the challenges of language learning from the student's perspective too. I did Cambridge CELTA teacher training at the end of 2016 (after years of informal teaching) and moved to Colombia to start a new chapter of life in January 2017. I taught at Universidad del Rosario, and also taught a wide variety of private classes with Colombian and international adults and children, in person and online. Now back in the UK, I teach learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and contexts. I love the variety of students and the breadth of teaching skills that entails. I have top qualifications and extensive experience, in general, business and academic English, as well as in Cambridge, IELTS and TOEFL international exams. Being a good teacher is all about working with the student to find the personalized way that works most effectively for them to grow in confidence and achieve their goals. It’s about connecting language learning with real life, making sense of English in a particular context and recognizing a student’s personal needs, challenges and learning style. I do currently have capacity for working with new students. If the schedule is not showing your preferred time, please do contact me and I will do my very best to find a space that suits you. Let's do this :-)

Hello Verbling Community! My name is Yvonne and I am a professional English teacher- I am a native speaker originally from Michigan but have lived in the tiny European country of Luxembourg for the past 31 years. After a 28 year career in the financial sector, I decided to return to school to become a certified ESL teacher. For the past 6 years, I have been teaching English full-time. I teach for the market-leading private language schools, as well as for the National school system. I teach one-on-one as well as to groups. Teaching is my vocation and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. My teaching style is student-centered. After evaluating the student's current level, we plan the target language goals together and work together towards realizing these language goals. As the lessons progress, I reinforce grammar where needed, but in a pleasant way. I have a veritable warehouse of material to put at my students' disposal. Of course, we work on all four pillars: speaking, reading,&listening comprehension and writing. If the student wishes only to be coached in conversation, no problem. I give homework as it implicates the student and leads to steady motivation. I am patient and since I am also a language learner, I can put myself in my students' shoes. I am a kind and outgoing teacher. My current students appreciate my innate patience. My fluency in other languages ( German, French, and Luxembourgish) gives me insight into my students' mistakes and assists me in my teaching. Besides languages, my hobbies include music, cooking, travel and I love to play trivia games.
