Hi. My name is Shaun, and I am from the rainbow nation South Africa. I am a native English speaker, and I have been teaching English ever since I finished university 30 years ago. I have taught English at school and university level, as well as privately and online. I have extensive experience in helping student prepare for the IELTS and TOEfl exam. (#Please note that I don't teach children, only adults.)
Most the students that I have taught speak English as a second language. In fact, because I live in Africa, most of my day-to-day conversations are with people who speak English as a second language, so I am used to talking to people who sometimes find speaking or writing English a little bit difficult.
I am a relaxed and easy-going person person by nature, and that is how I like to teach. I am very patient, and I like to include humor in my classes as I believe that laughter is the true international language.
Our lessons together will be designed for your specific needs. We c...

Hi, my name is Art, and I am a certified ESL tutor with 2 areas of focus: Job Interview Preparation and Conversational American English for Immigrants. As of July 18, I am ranked #5 most popular tutor of English on Verbling out of 472, according to the Verbling website. That ranking is earned after teaching 1,122 students and 9623 classes here since May of 2015. Don't take my word for it; look it up. That ranking is based on honest student reviews, more than 4300 of them. You can't read over 4300 reviews, but reading a few, and knowing they add up to a #5 ranking out of hundreds, and a 5 star rating should tell you something. Listen to them... not me.--- Anyway, I started teaching ESL 40 years ago in Salamanca Spain, then continued part-time while also teaching Spanish as a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University where I received an M.A. in Hispanic Literature in 1988. I left another career about 14 years ago when my Venezuelan wife and I moved back to her home country, ...

Greetings!
I would love to be your teacher so that your English can become confident and colourful at a sole swoop.
My name is Tom, an English teacher, having led 7000+ online lessons, 3000+ face-to-face lessons, and 200+ group lessons.
I am fully aware that learning languages, especially English, is vastly time-consuming, not to mention the infinite deal of effort that inevitably needs to be put therein. Obviously, since we humans have no USB ports through which we can absorb much information in a blink of an eye, mastering a tongue does not happen from one day to another ā it is a longsome and gradual process. Even for the most talented English-learners, bettering their level from elementary to advanced takes AT LEAST a full year ā if not longer ā, provided that they incessantly remain determined and hard-working in the meantime. Therefore, English courses offering to perfect your English to such heights where the sky is the limit within a ridiculously short amount of time all ...

One lesson: My client and I covered everything except English grammar explanations. Instead we discussed the process of moving into a new construction apartment while experiencing delays because of contractors and the Levantine culture of doing business. We talked about buyer beware laws in the US and Israel as well as the pros and cons for government policies that aim to protect consumers in the US, Israel, and Germany. Finally we discussed his views on the size and responsibilities of government.
Three or four times, mid-sentence, he reached for a word that wasn't there. I gave him the words. The conversation didn't stop because of this.
That's the real test. Not talking about a grammar rule under exam conditions, but having a real conversation at full speed for almost an hour, and only needing the occasional word to be given to you along the way.
Keeping your English "up to date" looks a lot like this. Let's start talking today!

In order to maintain lesson quality and...
