Hi. I completed my TEFL training in 2014, and I have 3 years experience of teaching English to small classes of adults, and 5 years teaching online. I'm from the UK, but moved to Romania in 2017. I am Canadian and have lived in Europe for fifteen years. My native language is English. My current residence is in Barcelona. Since 1999, I have worked as an English teacher in different countries -Japan, Canada, Italy and Spain-, both for public institutions and schools and private companies. I have accumulated considerable experience in teaching business English, written and spoken English, preparing people for TOEIC and TOEFL exams, and I have taught conversation courses for adults and adolescents in Japan, Canada as well as worked with children and adolescents in primary and high school. I have over 4 years teaching experience and a CELTA qualification. I also have experience of performing in the theatre, so I'm a very outgoing, fun and theatrical teacher. I have a B,A. in Biology and a M.A. in Math Education. I taught math, science and computers for 21 years at the junior high and high school levels and I taught computers to business students at the college level.. Once I retired, I began teaching English to students since I moved to Mexico and people were asking for help with their language skills. I am learning a new language so I understand the difficulties people face and that makes me a compassionate and caring teacher. I also have a great sense of humor.

As a kid I already knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to the work of teaching and that is why — as soon as I could decide about my future —I chose to start my career in this exciting field. I like to think that every good teacher leaves an indelible mark on their students and that, somehow, marks the path they will choose. For this reason that I take my work so seriously and I like to be so close to my students. I like to use a mix of different methodologies depending on the part of the language we need to focus on (PPP, Flipped classroom, TBL, ...) to achieve our goals together!
