Hello! My name is Ben. I am a TEFL-certified Native English Teacher with over 15 years experience. I taught in a classroom setting in South Korea for many years, and am now teaching on Verbling from my home in the United States. The most common kind of lesson plan I use includes: 1. Everyday English - We will ask each other common everyday English questions: "What time is it?", "What day is it today?", "How's the weather?", "What did you do today?" 2. Reading (+vocabulary, comprehension, and discussion) -We will take turns reading a news article. OR Grammar (beginning/ intermediate/ advanced) - we will work on one grammar module per lesson 3. Conversation (topical or casual) - We will take turns asking each other questions about any topic, or we can just have an open conversation. We can incorporate grammar, writing, listening, spelling, dictation, travel English, exam practice, or interview preparation as needed. I look forward to meeting you! :)

I have enjoyed meeting so many interesting people through 3,500 hours of teaching on Verbling. For 20 years before joining Verbling, I was involved with international students at high school and university levels. My work gave me a lot of experience in communicating with students and families whose first language was not English. My lessons will always be based on the student's present level and interest. I like to use written examples to help students develop skills in speaking and listening. My personal interests are sports, history, politics, travel, psychology, sociology, academic planning, human relations and personal development.
