Greetings!
My name is Tom, and I am an experienced English teacher, having taught about 9,000 online lessons, 5,000+ face-to-face lessons, and hundreds of group lessons.
Learning a language takes time and effort. Unfortunately, we humans have no USB ports through which we can simply upload English into our brains overnight. Real progress is gradual: it comes through practice, patience and the right guidance. I therefore do not promise miraculous fluency within a few weeks. What I can offer is careful, structured teaching that helps you make steady and lasting progress.
My lessons are not simply conversations. I actively teach, correct and explain, and each lesson is tailored to your level, goals, strengths and weak points. I want you to understand not only what sounds right in English, but also why it is right and how you can use it confidently yourself.
I specialise particularly in British English, including pronunciation, intonation, vocabulary and the differences between British and American usage. I also enjoy exploring grammar, synonyms, shades of meaning, spelling patterns and the small details that can make your English sound much more natural.
Depending on your needs, we can focus on:
• British English pronunciation and intonation
• Fluency and speaking confidence
• Grammar and accurate usage
• Vocabulary and shades of meaning
• British and American English differences
• Practical English for your own goals and everyday life
I believe that a teacher's job is not to keep a student dependent on lessons forever. My aim is to give you the knowledge, practice methods and confidence you need to become increasingly independent and eventually continue improving on your own.
Students of different ages and levels are welcome.
If you are willing to put in the effort, I will be glad to help you sharpen your English and use it with greater accuracy, confidence and colour.
