About Me
Hi, my name is Joe Kempf. I’m from America. I’ve been teaching English for about seven years. I absolutely love what I do. What I love about teaching English is that it opens a whole new world of opportunities for the people that I teach. Right now I’m working at a university in Eastern Europe. I teach English to prospective students which come from all over the world to study here. The program takes students from the beginner level all the way to advanced in just three short semesters. It’s such a joy to see these students to continue on to become successful professionals.
I also teach English to children and adults. Over the years I’ve taught a wide range of abilities, varying from beginner to advanced. I think it is most important for students to speak in order to truly learn a language. I put lots of time and thought into my lessons so that they are engaging and fun. I try to create a relaxed atmosphere that is student orientated and make students feel comfortable to share their thoughts and opinions about issues that matter to them.
I was born in America, near Chicago. I completed a bachelor's degree in urban geography in 2008. Immediately after graduation, I became a volunteer in the Peace Corps. I worked in an orphanage in a small village. It was during that time that I began teaching English and it was an experience that totally changed my life. I have Cambridge’s CELTA certificate from International House Budapest.
