About Me

Hi, I'm Quintera Quinn, but you can just call me Quinn! Nice to meet you! I've been teaching English since 2015, and I'm ready to help you with whatever you need! I'm experienced, fun, easy-going, and I love helping people meet their goals! I'm flexible too; whether you need a laidback class or a strict school-like experience, I can help you with that! 😁

ABOUT ME

I am 28, I live in the United States, and English is my native language. I've been teaching English in various ways since 2015. I taught in China for a month-long summer camp between my college semesters in both July 2015 and July 2016. I lived in South Korea for a year and a half, 2018 - 2020. While living there, I taught English to middle school students. I've taught on various online platforms including PalFish and SkimaTalk. Out of all my experience teaching English to English learners, Verbling is where I've come to feel the most happy; I love it here! 😎

I graduated from Indiana University Southeast with a major in English, a minor in Music, and an Honors minor in Fall 2017. I just finished my Master's in Advanced Teaching at University of the People. I very much love education, and I hope to get a Ph.D or an Ed.D, and earn certifications.

I am a very patient instructor, and I am very fun! I believe that learning should not only be hard work but should also be enjoyable! I will work hard to improve your English, but I also hope we can have a good time so that learning will seem like less of a burden.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

MY REQUIREMENTS

I do not teach beginners or children. I teach students who are intermediate (B1) level and above. I also prefer for my students to be teenagers or adults, but I have taught as young as eleven (11) here on Verbling.

WHAT CAN I TEACH?

I can help with many different types of needs. Here are some examples of what I can help you with!

Writing Classes: Do you want to develop your writing skills in English? Writing is my favorite part of English to teach, and I have a lot of experience in it, hence my name "THE WRITING BOSS" 🤣 You can improve your grammar and spelling and learn important grammatical tools. You'll have the chance to learn many different types of writing, including academic and non-academic options.

Speaking Classes: Do you want to improve your conversational English? Do you want to improve your grammar or develop your vocabulary through speaking? We can do this! We can have casual, fun conversations about anything you want, and you can improve your skills at the same time. I've helped students prepare for job interviews, trips, etc.

Accent Reduction: My accent reduction courses are actually pretty popular. These are advanced pronunciation courses with a focus on American English. We'll discuss vowels, consonants, word stress, etc. The goal is to make you sound more native as you speak in English!

Vocabulary Building: I have something that I call 'The Ultimate Vocabulary Builder'. This tool has a lot of different subjects and topics that students can choose from to improve vocabulary with specific topics. You can choose whatever topics you're interested in, and we'll improve your vocabulary usage through speaking and writing.

I can teach anything else if needed. Please check with me first so that I may make sure I am suitable to teach a certain topic.

THINKING ABOUT BOOKING A LESSON?

I'm really happy to meet you and get started! 😁 If you book a class, you'll receive a message from me about our first class. Let's have a great time as we explore the English language together! If you have questions or concerns first before you book, you can message me also! I'll do my best to help you out! 😊
