It sounds a little crazy, but I love my language and I want to share it with the rest of the world. Sometimes simple, often complex, but always rich, diverse and rewarding, English is my passion and I love explaining its many aspects with eager students, whether it is basic grammar and pronunciation or advanced vocabulary and regional accents. My knowledge of languages, linguistics and philology is extensive, but I am keen on keeping things accessible, relevant and interesting when I teach.
My approach to teaching is to try keep it fun, to preserve energy and attention levels at their peak for as long as possible!
I am a trained multilinguist, speaking both French and Spanish, the latter being the language I chose to specialise in when I started my Bachelor Arts degree at the University of Nottingham in 1995.
I am currently taking a CELTA course at the University of Sheffield and hope to be qualified by June 2018. Since 2017 I have been tutoring internationally online and teaching for an online Vietnamese school and am throughly enjoying the virtual classrooms and getting to know people from another culture and country.
I have spent many months travelling over the course of my life - Spain, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Europe - and I love learning from the people I meet. So give me the chance to get to know you and your English-speaking ambitions, whether it is passing an exam, applying for a job or just preparing for travelling to an English-speaking country: I will soon have you speaking it as if it were your mother tongue!
