About Me
Hi!
I'm Lara Whybrow, a TEFL certified ESL teacher with 13 years of experience and a British South African dialect. I am highly skilled in helping students achieve breakthroughs in their learning and overcome long standing obstacles in their English progress. I believe in tailoring my approach to each student's needs, within the framework of good pedagogical practices.
I teach the following courses, from A1 (Beginner) to C2 (Proficient):
- Separate or combined General & Business English Course
- English for Special Purposes: Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Automation, Software Engineering, Human Resources, Psychology, Architecture, Sales and Marketing, Finance.
In total there are over 1500 lesson plans in my library. Lessons aim to primarily focus on speaking practice, with the secondary focus being on additional skills such as reading, writing, listening and grammar.
I started teaching as a way to support myself while I learnt to code. I achieved my dream of being an accomplished software engineer. Now, I both teach and code for a living. In my spare time I work on my robot WilloBee.
